Training
Biomedia has produced many training videos over the last six years; our work ranges from training farmers to make silage through to Victoria Police members on using operational equipment. In the past most of our training videos were distributed on DVD but more and more our clients began requesting on-line video applications for use in the workplace. To this end Biomedia has developed a sophisticated and effective workplace learning management system (LMS). Our system has a focus on using video and other multimedia assets to improve learning outcomes. The Biomedia LMS can accept the following media assets: text, graphics, 2D and 3D animations, Flash applications, interactive 3D applications, audio files and streaming video.
 What is the Biomedia LMS?
The Biomedia LMS has been developed specifically over the last four years and is based on our own proprietary application. The essence of our system is that it acts like a template that is filled with training modules specific to your workplace. Each module is followed by a multi-choice questionnaire to test participants understanding of the module. All training information is logged to a database for easy viewing of staff training status and assessment results. Our training systems can be sited on the clients intranet or on a Biomedia server. For best video performance, the video files are delivered by a streaming media server hosted and managed by Biomedia. The main point is, your staff can participate in workplace training from anywhere in Australia or around the world and you have all relevant training information logged to a database.
 Training Systems Tailored to Your Workplace
Different companies have different training needs and we create systems to suit almost every need. We don't believe in generic training, instead our philosophy is to produce content specifically for your company showing your facilities and your procedures. In other words we work closely with you to create the production brief and scripts and then come to your workplace to do all the filming.
As well as productions tailored to your workplace the nature of our system gives staff the ability to tailor training specific to their job. Staff choose the training modules pertinent to them and therefore don't need to spend time on irrelevant content.
Our application also has the capacity for you to update and change content within the system. We have created a tool that allows you to make these updates quickly, simply and through any computer connected to the internet.
 The Modular Approach
Training can range from basic site induction to more complex OH&S and procedures on specific equipment. The advantage of the modular approach is that if you want to add modules or update modules then it is a simple matter of producing and adding only specific modules; not changing the whole system.
Our approach to developing a system for your workplace is that we create a template and fill that template with training modules, this gives you the opportunity to grow your training system over time as budgets and necessity dictate.
