On-line Archiving with Data Base Access
Biomedia offers a service unique in Australia. We have developed a web application that allows us to create an on-line searchable archive of your footage. Specifically tailored for larger clients, the on-line archive allows you to quickly and easily search for and view your footage from a computer anywhere in Australia.
What is a Video Archive?
Biomedia offers clients a full archival storage and database service. All material filmed for clients can be stored in our fire proof climate controlled archival facility. As part of the production process all footage is logged and then transferred to a database for later retrieval. Each time filming is done for a client the new footage is logged and the database updated. The aim of the Biomedia film archives is to grow an asset for clients. Production doesn’t have to be a one off spend, each time work is done for clients the database grows and with it the clients film assets.
All clients have a personal and secure site on the Biomedia website that they can login to for reviewing edits or searching their archive.
Why own a film archive?
The advantage of owning a video archive is that footage can be accessed quickly and efficiently to allow clients the ability to utilize footage in new productions or to use snippets of video in PowerPoint presentations, on websites or as email attachments to media or clients.
How do clients use their archive?
Databases are stored on line and clients can access their database through the Biomedia website, every client holding an archive with Biomedia will have their own client site within the Biomedia website. Clients can access their site using a login and password. The database is key word searchable and has fields for tape name, in and out points and footage descriptions. Footage can be searched and viewed on-line to help clients choose more efficiently the footage they want in their next production. Clients can then fill in the on-line production template and send it to Biomedia requesting specific footage to be included in a production or request that specific footage be made available for them in a higher resolution format to use in say a PowerPoint presentation. Biomedia can then upload the required higher resolution video file to the client site for the client to download and use.
